Empowering Young Voices Through Theater Arts Education
Southern California is a region of a hundred languages, a thousand traditions, and more stories than any one stage could hold, and that is exactly what makes it great. Truth Be Told Theater Education brings California standards-based theater to K-5 classrooms, where every child’s community becomes the curriculum and every voice gets its turn in the spotlight.

Misty Clark
Misty Clark is an educator, a working actor, and the founder of Truth Be Told Theater Education. She holds a BA in Theatre Arts, an M.Ed. in Multicultural and Bilingual Education, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a subject matter authorization in Theater.
Misty grew up surrounded by the many cultures of Northern California and Los Angeles — the mix that makes this state so unique and wonderful. With over 15 years in theater education, she founded Truth Be Told to close the gap in arts programming for students in underserved Los Angeles communities. Her culturally responsive approach brings students' own identities and experiences into every lesson, so they learn the craft by telling their own stories. She builds every lesson on stories from the many cultures that make up Los Angeles — Mexican and Central American, African American, Korean, Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, Armenian, Iranian, and the Tongva, LA's first people — brought to life through tableau, pantomime, improv and theater games. Having brought transformative theater programming to correctional facilities, Misty now focuses on elementary schools, with plans to expand to middle and high school.
